Welcome to MySpecialChildGuide.com. AT4P / SpecialChildGuide is a web-based platform that help parents manage the education plan and progress of their special needs child, and send quick, simple reminder messages and notifications to any device.
Trust and respect are at the heart of any meaningful community, and your well-being is our highest priority. We believe that safety is a shared responsibility, and everyone plays an important role in keeping the AT4P / SpecialChildGuide community safe.
We strongly encourage all users — whether you’re an organizer (e.g., parent), or participant (e.g., parent, teacher, care-giver) — to report any inappropriate contact, content, or use of AT4P / SpecialChildGuide’s services. To contact our team about violations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of the AT4P / SpecialChildGuide community, keep the following in mind:
Keep communication constructive.
Communication should be appropriate for recipients of all age levels and constructive in nature, so we encourage you to carefully consider all message content before sending.
Messages on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide can’t be edited or deleted, and everyone can download a complete record of progress update/notes they send as well as conversations they participate in.
To make sure you’re messaging the people you intend to message, check your participant list frequently and remove anyone who shouldn’t be on your team.
Anyone who has your credentials can join your team, so be careful about posting the code on social media or other public platforms.
Connect with people you know.
Before you join a team or accept an invitation, take a second to make sure you recognize the owner/organizer/parent. If you join a treatment team by mistake, you can leave at any time.
Get permission from people before adding or inviting them to a team.
Only add or invite people to your team on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide if you have their permission to contact them. We recommend letting them know ahead of time how you plan to use AT4P / SpecialChildGuide, so they feel comfortable joining your team.
Send useful, relevant messages.
While every community is different, each message you send should be valuable for your participants. Listen to feedback about the relevance, frequency/timing, and length of your messages. If you find that your messages are important for only a small group in your team, for example, consider limiting your reminders/notices to just them.
To help keep our community safe, avoid the following:
Don’t use words and phrases that you wouldn’t say over the school loudspeaker. Keep it clean. AT4P / SpecialChildGuide is first and foremost a tool for an educational environment.
Nudity or sexually suggestive content of any kind.
There’s no place for nudity or sexually suggestive content on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide. If we find that you’re sending messages of this sort, your account will be deleted.
Harassment, bullying, and gossip.
Messages meant to harass, bully, or speak maliciously about other people are unacceptable. You can report anyone who sends messages of this nature at email@example.com. We also encourage you to contact a trusted adult if you or someone you know is being bullied or feels unsafe.
Pretending to be someone else.
Use your real name and select the accurate role. Misrepresenting yourself or impersonating other people is not allowed on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide.
Adding or inviting people without permission.
It’s important to get permission from participants (and their guardians, if they’re under 13) before adding them to teams on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide. If we find that you’re adding people who don’t want to be added, your account may be deleted.
Consider the frequency and content of your messages. AT4P / SpecialChildGuide prohibits sending multiple messages a day without regard for your participants or messages with irrelevant content. If we detect behavior that resembles spamming, your account may be deleted.
Threatening harm to yourself or others.
Any messages meant to threaten harm to yourself or others goes against our priority to keep our community safe. If you’re considering harming yourself, please contact a trusted adult. If someone is sending violent threats, please that person to AT4P / SpecialChildGuide at firstname.lastname@example.org and contact a trusted adult.
Uses outside the educational space.
Communication on AT4P / SpecialChildGuide should be used to support learning.
Thanks for working with us to keep the AT4P / SpecialChildGuide community safe and supportive!
